Job Overview Join Our Dynamic Med‑Surg Team at Piedmont Walton. Our 36‑bed Medical‑Surgical unit offers a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment caring for a wide range of adult patients, including those with orthopedic needs, general and bariatric surgeries, cardiac/telemetry monitoring, and complex medical conditions. RN‑to‑patient ratios typically range from 1:5–6 and PCTs from 1:6–9, allowing for meaningful, team‑based patient care. Team members gain valuable clinical experience with frequent opportunities to perform IV starts, assist with bedside procedures, provide wound care, manage NGTs and chest tubes, administer blood transfusions, and care for post‑op, central line, and colostomy patients. Nurses and PCTs may also float to assist with needs across the hospital, making this a great opportunity for well‑rounded clinical growth and collaboration. Position Details Med Surg 1 – Full Time Nights – Sign On Bonus Available – Med Surg Specialty Diff Given. Responsibilities The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice and coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care. Qualifications Graduate from a nursing program – Required Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred No experience required; New graduates of a nursing program eligible – Required Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting – Preferred 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions – Required Licenses and Certifications RN – Registered Nurse – Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure – Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License – Required BCLS – Basic Life Support – Required Additional Licenses and Certifications (Addendum) Cardiac Tele – ACLS Certification (within 180 days) Critical Care – ACLS Certification (within 180 days) Dialysis – CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) – Preferred Emergency Department – ACLS and PALS Certification (within 180 days) Infusion/Oncology – Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification – Required at hire Pediatrics – PALS Certification (within 180 days) Surgical Services – PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU – ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients – Required within 180 days Women’s Services – Labor and Delivery ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program, NICU, NAT, Nursery – Required within 180 days Business Unit Name: Piedmont Walton Hospital Job Details Seniority level: Entry level Employment type: Full‑time Job function: Health Care Provider Industry: Hospitals and Health Care #J-18808-Ljbffr
