Job Description

Process Engineer – Commissioning & Water Operations | Water Treatment Project | Sparwood, BC
6 month contract position

WolfTrek Corp. | Indigenous Owned | Technical Recruitment & Workforce Management

WolfTrek is an Indigenous owned company providing technical recruitment and workforce management services for companies operating in various sectors across Canada.

We are currently hiring a Process Engineer for a Water Operations commissioning team responsible for the facility startup of two water treatment facilities. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic project team working with technology that represents some of the most sophisticated selenium, nitrate, and sulphate removal treatment in the world — advancing the objectives of a major mining company's Water Quality Plan.

We are looking for a highly motivated and resourceful engineer with strong learning agility and exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, problem-solving, troubleshooting, decision-making, and organizational abilities — someone who can adapt to a fast-paced environment, work with minimal supervision, and thrive on a team that tackles complex and novel challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Collaborate with the commissioning team to execute the facility commissioning plan on schedule
  • Analyze process data and make recommendations to advance the commissioning plan based on results
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, and automation teams to troubleshoot process units as required
  • Identify issues, recommend a path forward based on findings, and document all changes through the Management of Change (MOC) process
  • Coach less-experienced team members including technicians and co-op students

Key Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in chemical, mechanical, environmental, or civil engineering preferred; candidates with significant applicable experience will also be considered
  • Engineering fundamentals required: fluid mechanics, mass balances, basic chemistry, solids/slurry handling, and process control
  • Minimum 4 years of experience focused on water/wastewater treatment, pilot projects, or similar industries
  • Facility commissioning and operations experience is a strong asset
  • Experience with ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, high-density sludge, or similar clarifier systems is a strong asset
  • Valid driver's licence required

Contract Details

  • 6-month contract position
  • 8 days on / 6 days off rotation, 10-hour days
  • Furnished accommodations provided

Why This Opportunity?

  • Work on one of the most advanced water treatment commissioning projects in the mining sector
  • Contribute directly to meaningful environmental outcomes through world-class treatment technology
  • Join a collaborative, safety-focused team tackling complex and novel process challenges
  • Gain hands-on commissioning experience across multiple large-scale treatment facilities
  • Competitive compensation with furnished accommodations included

WolfTrek welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.
Indigenous applicants are encouraged to apply.
We are committed to building diverse and inclusive teams.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment.
