Freelance Web & Brand Designer (Part-Time, As Needed)

Location: Cincinnati, OH (can work from home or with me)

Type: Freelance / Independent Contractor (1099)

Hours: Flexible, As Needed (Typically 5–20 hours per week)

Compensation: $20–25/hour depending on experience

Howler Creative Studio is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Web & Brand Designer to assist with client projects on an as-needed basis. This is a great opportunity for a college student, recent graduate, or junior designer looking to gain hands-on experience working with real client brands across retail, wellness, fashion, and service-based industries.

We're a small, collaborative studio that designs websites, brands, marketing materials, and digital experiences. You'll work directly with the founder and gain exposure to a variety of creative projects.

What You'll Be Helping With

• Updating and building pages in Shopify, Squarespace, and Wix
• Website content updates and formatting
• Mobile responsiveness and design adjustments
• Creating graphics in Canva
• Basic image editing and resizing
• Light Photoshop and Illustrator work (helpful but not required)
• Email marketing graphics
• Product uploads and website maintenance
• Quality assurance and testing before website launches
• Assisting with client revision requests

You Might Be a Great Fit If You

• Are currently studying or recently graduated in Graphic Design, Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, or a related field
• Have a strong eye for design, layout, spacing, and typography
• Are comfortable using Canva
• Have basic familiarity with Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, or Webflow
• Are organized and detail-oriented
• Can follow creative direction while also bringing your own ideas
• Communicate professionally and reliably
• Are eager to learn and grow

Bonus Skills (Not Required)

• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Illustrator
• Webflow
• Email marketing platforms (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, etc.)
• Basic SEO knowledge
• Social media design
