The eSports Program Instructor I is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the eSports lounge and equipment at the Edwards Field House. This position supports leagues and tournaments, as well as classes, camps, and clinics for all ages in both group and individual settings. POSITION DETAILS
Job Title: eSports Program Instructor I
Location: Edwards Field House (Edwards, CO)
Employment Type: Part-Time, Seasonal
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Overtime Eligible)
Schedule: Work schedules may vary based on program and event needs and typically include evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional tournament-based or special event hours.
Supervision Required: Works under the supervision of the Program Instructor II, Facility Supervisor, or Facility Coordinator
Supervision Exercised: None; leadership and direction may be provided to assistants and volunteers.
Work Environment and Physical Demands: Duties are performed primarily indoors in recreation centers, gaming arenas, or event spaces and involve frequent use of computers and visual display screens. The role requires sustained focus and attention to detail to support esports programming, participant supervision, and live events or competitions, often in moderately noisy and fast-paced environments. Typical physical activities include sitting or standing for extended periods, moving throughout program spaces, and setting up and breaking down equipment. This may include lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items such as computers, monitors, consoles, tables, and related equipment, typically up to 30–40 pounds, as well as occasional bending, kneeling, and reaching. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively and respond to changing priorities, technical issues, and participant needs in real time.

Salary: $18.49 - $23.11/hour DOE; staff in this position are eligible for a $1/hour incentive for Spanish/English bilingual and can pass the language competency test.

Considerable knowledge of: The theories, principles, and practices related to the specialized area of esports and gaming programming. Curriculum design and effective instructional and facilitation methods appropriate to participant age, ability, and skill level within the area of assignment.
Skills and abilities: Demonstrated competency in the specialized area of esports and/or gaming programming. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups. Ability to plan, prepare, and deliver instruction or facilitation to participants of varying ages, abilities, and skill levels. Ability to manage participant behavior, respond to conflicts or disruptions, and address customer service concerns in a professional manner. Ability to respond appropriately to emergencies and unexpected situations. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position. Ability to work collaboratively with staff and participants and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and constructive environment.
