Job Summary:
The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of cadets, faculty, and
staff to and from Academy-related activities, including athletic events, medical appointments, airports, and other approved destinations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, supervision, and accountability of cadets while representing Missouri Military Academy in a professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate Academy vehicles, including vans, buses, and other assigned transportation.
Transport cadets to scheduled activities such as athletic competitions, appointments, off-campus events, and travel hubs.
Ensure cadets are accounted for before, during, and after transport.
Maintain appropriate supervision and discipline of cadets during transport in accordance with Academy policies.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned vehicles.
Adhere to all local, state, and federal driving laws and regulations.
Coordinate schedules and routes with supervisors and relevant departments.
Assist with loading and unloading of equipment or luggage as needed.
Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, and fuel usage.
Respond appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations while in transit.
Serve as a positive representative of the Academy at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver’s license required; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred (or ability to obtain).
Clean driving record with no major violations.
Previous experience driving buses, vans, or commercial vehicles preferred.
Ability to pass a background check and any required drug screening.
Experience working with youth or in a school environment preferred.

Ability to supervise and interact positively with cadets.
Excellent time management and reliability.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
