Position Summary:

Carboline is seeking a Customer Service Distributor Specialist, located at our Headquarters in St. Louis, MO. This person will act as the main point of contact within Carboline for our top distributors and assisting them with orders dealing with discounts, commission splits, rate special requirements, products, point of manufacture, sales division, project, market, routing, and freight terms.

Requirements:

High School Degree or equivalent, 4-year Business degree or 2+ years of Customer Service or Supply Chain experience.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires minimal physical activity but does require computer usage for an extended period of time - up to 8 hours in a day. No unusual environmental, lifting or exertion requirements are associated with this position. Must be able to pass a color blindness and math test.

Essential Functions:

  • Act as the main point of contact within Carboline for the top Distributors identified by Sales Management
  • Input Distributor orders with correct price, discounts, commission splits, rate special requirements, products, point of manufacture, sales division, project, market, routing, and freight terms
  • Follow up daily on order status and notify customers or sales reps of any changes. Work with production management and expediting to meet customer requirements.
  • Facilitate all paperwork for any Distributor returns (RGA's) or Credit Memos needed.
  • Work closely with Margin Management to ensure quotes are loaded properly for each Distributor and work to prevent any pricing discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with the Transportation Team on any special freight requirements or freight issues.
  • Work directly with the SIOP Team to help forecast Distributor usage, recommend stock levels, and advise on any upcoming projects outside of normal usage. This should be based off feedback from the Customer and the Sales Representative.
  • Work closely with the Distributor and the Sale Rep or Director on any Marketing & Training needs.
  • Work closely with the Manager of Independent Distribution.
  • Grow existing relationships with the Distributor customer base through superior service.
  • Help grow Distributor accounts through upselling at the point of order entry.
  • Facilitate account set up and ordering order procedure for all new Distributor Accounts.
  • Understand and follow policy guidelines relative to stock orders, no-charge orders, quality compliance, credit, freight recovery, commission levels and commission splits.
  • Have basic knowledge of product use, thinners by product, units of measure, package codes, manufacturing processes, and basics of supply chain.
  • Handle special assignments as needed.
  • Committed to the Company's safety and quality programs.
