Faculty and instructors are responsible for curriculum teaching service scholarship and related administrative activities that support the mission vision and values of the university.
The College of Arts and Humanities at Lindenwood University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Art History and Visual Culture.
Qualified applicants will possess a PhD in Art History with specialization in 20th-21st-Century Global Art. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 4 courses (12 credit hours) each semester across the Art History curriculum. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online. All Lindenwood faculty members are expected to advise and mentor students continue to develop their expertise through research and scholarship and participate in faculty governance and campus life.
The Assistant Professor of Art History and Visual Culture is a full-time 9-month faculty position that will begin August 13 2026. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until filled.
We seek an enthusiastic teacher as well as a committed and highly collaborative colleague whose background demonstrates an ability to support students development as they prepare for many different careers both within and outside of traditional Art Historical fields.
The successful candidate will possess a specialization in twentieth- and twenty-first-century art history with the capacity to teach contemporary art since 1945 from a global addition to foundational and survey-level instruction the position will include designing and delivering upper-division and / or graduate-level courses focused on global modern and contemporary art since 1900 that will extend the current curriculum.
